The Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth exists to ensure children and youth in Manitoba have a voice. An independent office of the legislature, MACY supports and advises children on their rights and access to public services.
The challenge
While MACY is often associated with child family services, they actually serve many public domains. MACY approached us with an objective of raising awareness of these domains while educating youth of the children’s rights tied to each service area.
The solution
To tackle this challenge, we created a series of short animated videos with the target audience in mind - children and youth. We aimed to keep the series approachable and informative while making sure the videos were eye catching and engaging.
The concept centered around using a blend of diverse design styles and punchy playful scripts. We used both 2D and 3D animation styles and worked with members of YAAS (MACY’s youth advisory team) to record the voice overs to drive the scripts.
The results
The final delivery included six videos each focused on a different domain. MACY shared these videos across their social platforms and through their network to spread awareness and educate their audience.
